Konteks Penggunaan Present Continuous Tense

Format Kalimat

Kalimat-kalimat Present Continuous Tense mengikuti pola sebagai berikut :

Subject + Be + Verb + ing

Contoh:

1. She is dancing.
2. They are playing football.
3. The duck is eating.

Penanda Waktu

Kata atau frasa yang digunakan sebagai penanda waktu (time marker) dalam kalimat Present Continuous Tense antara lain: now, just now, just, at the moment, right now, Listen!, Look!

Penggunaan

Terdapat beberapa penggunaan Present Continuous Tense, yaitu:

Untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang sedang berlangsung di waktu sekarang

Contoh:

1. We are studying English now.
2. The carpenter is making an antique chair.
3. My babies are sleeping at the moment.
4. Listen! She is singing in the bathroom.
5. Look! The birds are flying high.

Untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang berlangsung dalam rentang waktu tertentu

Contoh:

1. Pollution is spoiling the air these days.
2. Mr Syukri is teaching Web Programming this semester.
3. He is working very hard today.

Untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang akan berlangsung diwaktu yang akan datang.

Contoh:

1. Indah is going to sing at the concert tonight.
2. I am coming home tomorrow.
